At the Astrid Lindgren's Hometown Association's annual meeting at Wallby Säteri on Wednesday evening, Jenni Leppelt was elected as the new chairwoman. Jenni works as a tourist consultant in Hultsfred Municipality. She has extensive experience in leadership work and is passionate about a vibrant countryside.

In her professional role, Jenni has carried out several leadership projects over the years. In 2017, she was elected to the association's board and in recent years she has been vice-chair. Now she will take over the chairman's gavel and thus become the association's first female chair. She will also be the first to lead the work in the new expanded leadership area, which now consists of ten municipalities: Aneby, Eksjö, Hultsfred, Högsby, Kinda, Nässjö, Vetlanda, Vimmerby, Ydre and part of Oskarshamn municipality.

  • It feels really interesting that we are expanding the area, that we are getting new thoughts, working methods, experiences and, not least, new project owners and exciting applications. Leader is truly an opportunity that can create the conditions for realizing dreams and ideas, says Jenni Leppelt.

She emphasizes that Leader is now fairly well established and that both associations and companies see and understand the opportunities with the association.
– Astrid Lindgren's hometown will continue to be a natural part and an important player in the work to create vibrant rural areas where people can live, work and live. Our strength is that we are local, both board and staff. We will be there along the entire journey, from idea to completed project.
