Seek support for projects
The application is made in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system, but we at the Leader office are there as a sounding board throughout the entire process.
From expression of interest to application
The first step is always to register your interest with us at the Leader office. If your registration is approved by us, you can then apply for project support in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system.
1. Expression of interest
Does your project idea fit within Leader and Astrid Lindgren's Hometown?
Before you submit your expression of interest, you need to consider whether the project idea fits both within Leader and within Astrid Lindgren's Hometown.
Does the idea comply with Leader?
To find out if your idea can become a leader project according to the Swedish Board of Agriculture's criteria, you can read more here:
Does the idea fit within Astrid Lindgren's Hometown?
Please read our strategy to see if your project is in line with it:
In the strategy you will find our four areas of intervention and your project needs to be part of one of them:
1. Skills development
2. New methods, products and features
3. Refined local resources
4. Entrepreneurship in rural areas
Also remember to take part in Basic conditions and selection criteria for the area of focus you plan to apply for support within:
Next step: Submit your expression of interest
If you believe that the project idea fits within both Leader and Astrid Lindgren's Hometown, we would like you to submit a expression of interest. The Leader office will then provide feedback on whether the project can proceed and whether you can start applying for support in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system.
2. Apply for a power of attorney
If you have a limited liability company, partnership or are going to represent, for example, an association or municipality, you need to give yourself a power of attorney to be able to log in to the e-service with your personal e-identification.
If someone else is going to handle your, your company's or your organization's matters in the e-service, you need to give that person a power of attorney to represent you.
Send your application for a power of attorney to the address stated on the form. It may take a few days before you receive the power of attorney.
3. Write your application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system
After you have received approval from the office, go to the Swedish Board of Agriculture's website and Log in to My Pages with Bank-ID. Select the organization you will represent and write your application. Please note that you should only select "Myself" if you are a company. If you don't see the organization you represent, the authorization hasn't yet been successful.
To make your application complete, you need to attach:
- A budget based on an available template. Also attach quotes and other cost documents that verify the budget items.
- A certificate of liquidity showing that you have sufficient finances to carry out the intervention, such as a bank statement, balance sheet or loan promise. This is needed because the support is only paid out once you have incurred the costs.
We will receive the application when you submit it.
When you press the "Review and submit" button, the application will be sent to us at the leader office.
4. Processing and decisions
Once the application has been received by us at the leader office, we will process it. We will give you feedback and let you know if you need to add or clarify anything. You can change your application even after it has been submitted.
Your application needs to be complete approximately one month before one of Astrid Lindgren's board meetings, see the calendar.
If the board decides to approve your application, the Swedish Board of Agriculture will formally approve the project. Getting a formal decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture often takes 10 months, sometimes longer. If you choose to start the project before the Swedish Board of Agriculture has made its decision, you do so at your own risk.
