Do you have an idea that can develop your community? As a first step in contacting us, we would like you to fill out our expression of interest.
Please familiarize yourself with our strategy, our goals, and focus areas as well as the checklist for leader projects, to see if your idea fits into our local development strategy.
Leader support for larger projects
Support can be granted for ideas that contribute to the development of our community. The ideas need to align with our goals and focus areas and comply with the requirements for what constitutes a leader project. The project can last a maximum of two years and the amount you apply for should be reasonable in relation to what you want to achieve.
Astrid Lindgren's Hometown'sboard always assesses the requested amount in relation to how the project contributes to Astrid Lindgren's Hometown's established indicators and goals. The higher the support requested, the more results the board expects.
An application can be assessed as project support or project support for businesses. Read more below.
Project support
Project support can be granted for development ideas that are based on local anchoring and are implemented in collaboration. The project needs to have at least one partner involved in the project's implementation. Your idea should also be beneficial to the public and meet a local need.
The support amount is a maximum of 1.5 million kronor and it is possible to receive support for 100 percent of the project's actual costs. The project can last a maximum of two years and the amount you apply for should be reasonable in relation to what you want to achieve.
The minimum amount to apply for support is 24,000 kronor.
The maximum amount to apply for support from Astrid Lindgren's Hometown is 1.5 million kronor. If you have other financing, the total project budget must not exceed 3.75 million kronor. This is because the Agricultural Agency's regulations do not allow support to be paid out under 40 % of the total budget.

It is the board's assessment based on the Agricultural Agency's rules and guidelines that determines whether a project is classified as project support or project support for businesses.
Project support for companies
Project support for businesses can be granted when you have a development idea and the project is beneficial for one or a few commercial activities. It is important that the project collaborates with someone else, who also benefits from the effort, such as a business or an association.
The support amount is a maximum of 300,000 kronor with a requirement of at least 30 percent in own co-financing. The project can last a maximum of two years and the amount you apply for should be reasonable in relation to what you want to achieve.
The minimum amount to apply for support is 24,000 kronor.
The maximum amount to apply for support from Astrid Lindgren's Hembygd is 300,000 kronor. If you have other funding, the total project budget must not exceed 750,000 kronor. This is because the Agricultural Agency's regulations do not allow for support to be paid out under 40 % of the total budget.

Project support and project support for companies
What can you seek support for?
You can apply for support for actual expenses that fall within the project period. Support is only granted for expenses that are necessary to achieve the purpose and goals in the support decision, and if these are deemed reasonable. You need to provide documentation showing how you arrived at the project's expenses.
Examples of eligible expenses:
- salary for staff, including salary cost surcharges and indirect costs
- investments
- own work
- purchase of services
- other expenses
- used equipment

What cannot be supported?
Examples of expenses that are not eligible for support:
- ongoing operating costs
- renovation, new construction, and extension of private residential property that is not a commercial property
- purchase of property
- new construction of facilities with boilers or burners that are primarily fueled by fossil fuels or for the purchase of boilers or burners that are primarily fueled by fossil fuels
- fees and costs associated with installment purchases
- leasing costs
- replacement investments
- own materials
- own machinery
- purchase of beverages with an alcohol content exceeding 2.25 percent by volume.
Leader checks
Umbrella project
The application process differs between applying for support for larger projects and applying for support for smaller projects through our leader checks.
Leader checks are funds that can be applied for development ideas and innovative initiatives for both associations and companies.
The maximum amount that we can provide support for is 40,000 SEK.
For companies, a co-financing of 30 percent is required and we can provide project support of 70 percent of the budget (up to a maximum of 40,000 SEK).
