Vision 2023-2027
Together for the development of sustainable and attractive rural areas in Astrid Lindgren's Hometown.
With courage, wisdom and ingenuity!
Together stands for the partnership between the non-profit, private and public sectors, but also for the cross-border work between our municipalities, counties and leader areas. The inclusive approach covers all ages, everyone who lives and resides in the city and the country. We develop sustainable rural areas, in line with Agenda 2030, and create attractiveness based on unique local conditions. We do it in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren, with courage, wisdom and ingenuity – and with the drive to feel pride in what we will one day hand over to future generations.
Astrid Lindgren's Homeland can provide financial support for ideas that develop our area during the period 2023-2027. In order for the project application to be prioritized, it needs to fit into one of our following three goals:
Goal 1
Developed business sector
By contributing to good conditions for the business sector, which is the engine of Swedish welfare, opportunities are created for entrepreneurs to grow, strengthen their competitiveness and promote employment.
Goal 2
Sustainable communications
The goal encompasses both communications in the form of alternatives for travel and transportation, as well as digital communication and information flows.
Goal 3
Attractive countryside
New ways of thinking contribute to creating attractive rural areas with sustainable community planning with various housing options, service and cultural offerings, and meaningful leisure time, not least for children and young people.
The project application also needs to fit into one of our four areas of focus.
Focus area 1
Skills development
Does your association, your organization or you and your business colleagues need new knowledge to meet new challenges, develop businesses and implement your ideas?
With Leader support, it is possible to receive financial assistance to carry out training initiatives.
Focus area 2
New methods, products and features
Innovative and new ways of thinking create concrete solutions to old problems and new challenges.
Focus area 3
Refined local resources
The concept of local resources includes natural and cultural values, raw materials, agricultural land, places and existing physical assets in the small-scale idyll. Proud, committed residents and what people in the region can do together are also important local resources.
By refining local resources, we develop what already exists. This strengthens the local economy, contributes to increased entrepreneurship, promotes employment and contributes to an increased range of products and services for both residents and visitors.
Focus area 4
Entrepreneurship in rural areas
Entrepreneurship is about business development, but also about taking action in civil society.
People who are allowed to do what they are passionate about can do wonders. In developing the strategy, a vision of the future was formed that is dominated by sustainable choices, where quality of life is the focus. An area where the degree of self-sufficiency is high and more money stays in the area. Such development requires both entrepreneurship, initiative and new solutions, which in turn requires a permissive environment, where residents and ideas have a place.
