Applications through Redo now open for Vetlanda Municipality

Over 50 committed participants gathered for an evening about local preparedness - and now associations in Vetlanda municipality can apply for up to SEK 25,000 for preparedness initiatives through the umbrella project Redo (apply by March 31, 2026).

The idea of the Cultivation Academy

The idea was to take advantage of all the knowledge available – in the form of experienced growers/course leaders, hired lecturers, and study and farm visits – to give it to people in the area and inspire them to spread the knowledge further.

The dream of a sequel

The project period is over and the Cultivation Academy's goals regarding courses, knowledge dissemination, networks and cultivation tunnels have been met.

Astrid Lindgren's Homeland is now looking for a committed course leader for the project Odlingsakademien 3.0. The project is aimed at growers at various levels and aims to spread knowledge, inspiration and community through lectures, courses, study visits and coaching.

National leaders' meeting in Vimmerby

The national leaders' meeting was held over two intensive days at the end of October at Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby. This year, a record number of registered participants, over 270, were registered.
We see it as an incredible privilege to welcome these participants from all over the country to our leader area.

Freight traffic and defense policy in focus at seminar on the Höglandsbanan

The Swedish Transport Administration has high ambitions for the maintenance of the railway between Nässjö and Oskarshamn. The regions and municipalities are prepared to work together to manage and develop the railway, where freight traffic is at the top of the common agenda. . This was clear when Astrid Lindgren's Hometown held a transport seminar in Hultsfred yesterday.

150th anniversary of Nässjö Oskarshamns Railway

In 2024, the Nässjö-Oskarshamn railway will celebrate its 150th anniversary. This will be marked with anniversary celebrations on May 25 at stations along the railway route. Each municipality along the line will invite to celebrations at the stations: Nässjö, Eksjö, Mariannelund, Hultsfred, Berga and Oskarshamn.
Nässjö Railway Museum will run a commemorative steam locomotive train on the route.

In connection with the annual meeting of the Astrid Lindgren's Hometown Association, Jenni Leppelt was elected as the new chairwoman. Jenni works as a tourist consultant in Hultsfred Municipality, has extensive experience in leadership work and is passionate about a vibrant countryside.
