Not all initiatives and ideas are suitable as leader projects, but there may be other opportunities for support and funding and below we list some of them.

Company

Coompanion is present throughout Sweden, with 25 independent regional organizations that are locally owned and controlled. Coompanion Sweden is the national umbrella organization, a cooperative where all regional Coompanion are members. The Coompanion regions are also cooperative enterprises and together they have around 1000 members in the form of organizations, cooperatives, social enterprises, student associations and public actors, who work for more and better cooperatives.

Coompanion can provide personal and free advice when individuals, groups, associations and companies want to realize their ideas together.

Other donors

General Inheritance Fund

The Swedish Inheritance Fund is a government fund for funds from estates of deceased persons who have no heirs. It enables projects across the country to receive financial support.

Four target groups:

To receive money from the Inheritance Fund, the project must include at least one of the four target groups. The Inheritance Fund's target groups are:

  • Children 0 – 11 years old,
  • Young people 12 years – 25 years,
  • People who have reached the age of 26 and have a disability
  • Elderly people who have reached the age of 65

The Heritage Fund has two forms of support:

  • Local support – when you want to do a renovation, extension, or new construction to be able to start a new business in the locality (within ten kilometers).
  • Project support – when you want to develop, produce and create a method, a model, a way of working or a type of activity.

National Board of Housing, Building and Urban Development

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning is the administrative authority for issues related to the built environment, land and water management, spatial planning, construction and management of buildings, housing and housing financing. They have various opportunities for grants.

Företagarna is a non-profit organization for and by entrepreneurs throughout Sweden.

Hela Sverige ska leva is a non-profit association that works with rural issues. Among other things, they work by providing advice and support to their members, who are village associations, community associations, fiber associations and others, all of whom work for the good of their region.

The ICA Foundation collaborates with and supports organizations that are passionate about improving people's health and well-being.

Swedish Board of Agriculture

In addition to Leader support, the Swedish Board of Agriculture offers other support opportunities. The support is intended to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of Swedish agriculture, contribute to vibrant rural areas and make it easier for young farmers to take over or start agricultural businesses. The support is also intended to contribute to the goals of the Swedish food strategy.

The Arts Council

The Swedish Arts Council is an authority that, by promoting, monitoring and distributing grants to culture, helps to implement national cultural policy. They work to develop Sweden's cultural life throughout the country and internationally.

The Rural Network is a national network of organizations, associations and authorities that in various ways have an impact on rural development. Together, they have over 100 network members who collaborate and learn from each other. The goal is to create sustainable development in rural areas and coastal communities around Sweden.

Swedish Environmental Protection Agency

The local nature conservation initiative, LONA, is a grant that is intended to stimulate municipalities and non-profit associations' long-term commitment to nature conservation. Through LONA, it is possible to receive up to 50 percent in grants to implement projects that benefit nature conservation, outdoor recreation and public health.

New Business Center

NyföretagarCentrum is a foundation that promotes new businesses and entrepreneurship and offers free advice to anyone who wants to start their own business.

The Postcode Foundation

The Postcode Foundation's purpose is to promote sustainable development by supporting non-profit organizations both in Sweden and internationally, which promote positive social development or seek long-term solutions to global challenges. They only provide support to non-profit associations and non-profit foundations. These have the opportunity to apply for three different types of support: project support, thematic initiatives or project support via the Neighborhood Initiative.
