The Cultivation Academy is the continuation of a project that wants to create the joy of growing. The aim of the initiative is to contribute to an even greater degree of self-sufficiency and cultivation knowledge, contribute to developed entrepreneurship and increase awareness of how we can live more sustainably in a concrete way.

The Cultivation Academy 3.0 is a leader project run by Astrid Lindgren's Homeland, funded by the EU and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and this is the third round for the project starting in January 2026.

The killer slugs have been extra active this year and are something we have talked about on garden visits.

Examples of shrubs with edible berries are currants, gooseberries, blackberries, black raspberries, American blueberries, blueberry, chokeberry, elderberry, rosehip, sea buckthorn, hazel, large-fruited hazel and berry medlar.

Irrigation

The best thing is if you can collect and save rainwater from the roofs.
