Astrid Lindgren's Hometown is now opening up the opportunity to apply for a leader check within our umbrella project Sustainable Entrepreneurship.
Who can apply?
Small businesses (up to 50 employees) operating in Astrid Lindgren's Hometown, that is to say:
Aneby, Eksjö, Hultsfred, Högsby, Kinda, Nässjö, Vetlanda, Vimmerby, Ydre and part of Oskarshamn municipality.
Only one application per company.
What can you seek support for?
The idea must contribute to creating new employment and/or a new product or service.
Development can take many different forms. We welcome ideas that promote entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices in our leader area.
For example, you can seek support for:
- Skills development
- Study visits
- Marketing
- Costs associated with the development of new products/services
- Consulting costs for the development of the company
- Costs for the preparation of a business plan, marketing plan, and branding work that follows the sustainability perspective
Please note that a leader check may not be used for investments. Read more about this in the Terms and Conditions document.
Read more about sample expenses in the Expense Information document below.
How much can you apply for?
You can apply for support for an amount between 10,000 and 40,000 kronor excluding private co-financing. To receive a leader check, you need to contribute at least 30% private co-financing of the project's total budget.
The support from us must at the same time correspond to at least 40% of the total project budget, according to the rules of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
This means that your total project budget can be up to 100,000 kronor, provided that you have sufficient co-financing.

Applications are received and decided on continuously. We accept applications as long as there are funds left to distribute within the umbrella project.
Please note that the sub-activity must be completed and reported by June 30, 2027.
You must submit cost documentation with your application. For examples of how you can compile quotes and price comparisons in a document that confirms the costs, see the document below.
