About the project
Background and purpose
Between 2014 and 2022, Astrid Lindgren's Hometown has run an operational project with a focus on local development. The work has been based on the local development strategy, which has provided goals and indicators for what we have wanted to achieve.
The work of the Leader Office
The Leader office has served as a support point for the entire process. Administration, processing of applications and contact with project owners have taken place here. We have coached the applicants, followed their ideas from idea to application and ensured that the formal requirements have been met. The office has also been responsible for coordination and the ongoing dialogue with authorities and financiers.
The work of the board
The board has made decisions on which projects have received support and has ensured that they have been in line with the strategy's goals. The board has followed the work, discussed developments in the area and contributed to creating an anchoring in the local community.
Information and communication
A central part of the operation has been to spread information about the opportunity to apply for leader support. We have worked with various channels, meetings and events to reach associations, companies and residents in the area. In this way, more actors have become aware of the opportunity and developed their ideas.
Summary
The operational project has meant that we have driven and coordinated the leader work in the area. We have informed, coached and processed applications, the board has made decisions and we have followed up the work based on the local development strategy. In this way, the conditions have been created for more initiatives and projects to emerge and contribute to local development.
