Lectures in the preparedness area

Allgunnens Community Association will conduct two lectures on edible and medicinal plants as well as natural preservation to strengthen residents' knowledge and preparedness for potential crisis situations. The lectures build on the association's previous work with local preparedness and home preparedness and will also contribute to reviving knowledge about how nature's resources can be utilized sustainably.

About the sub-activity

The sub-activity aims to strengthen the knowledge and preparedness of the residents in Allgunnen and surrounding areas through two local lectures. The initiative builds on previous information meetings about local preparedness and home preparedness and is part of the association's ongoing work with the community's resilience in the event of a crisis. One lecture is about edible and healing plants and how nature's resources can be used as part of one's own preparedness. The other addresses natural preservation and how food can be utilized and preserved in a sustainable way.

Through the lectures, the association wants to reconnect with older knowledge and provide participants with practical inspiration that can be useful both in everyday life and in a crisis situation. The activities are conducted in the association's own accessibility-adapted venue and are open to both members and other residents in the community. The association also intends to invite the local fiber association and Sinnerbo community association, which can strengthen contacts and collaboration between the associations in preparedness issues. In the long term, the increased knowledge and strengthened local relationships will contribute to a more prepared and resilient community.

About the umbrella project

A vibrant countryside is created by people who want to develop the place where they live and work. With the umbrella project Living Rural Areas, Astrid Lindgren's Hembygd aims to give associations and organizations the opportunity to harness local ideas and acquire the knowledge needed to implement them in practice.

Through leader checks of 10,000–40,000 kronor, local actors can carry out skills development initiatives that contribute to creating new leisure and cultural activities, meeting places, or training opportunities.
