Cooperation between children and young people in Aneby

KSSB is granted funds for the project Cooperation children and youth in Aneby, with the goal of strengthening children and youth's mental health, community, and school attendance. The project targets students in all schools in the municipality and is particularly focused on reaching young people in vulnerability, with an emphasis on girls where mental health issues have increased the most in recent years according to Region Jönköping's public health survey.

About the project

The project is based on a broad collaboration between school, leisure activities, outpatient care, the Church of Sweden, the business community, and civil society. The initiative is carried out with support from Astrid Lindgren's hometown.

The project's content

  • Community days for grades 2, 5, and 7 with themes such as identity, friendship, social media, climate, and democracy. The activities take place outside the classroom and aim to build relationships, self-esteem, and class community.

  • Targeted small group activities for children and youth with greater needs, where participants have the opportunity to be seen and acknowledged in a safe environment.

  • Girls' groups and similar initiatives with a special focus on mental health.

  • Four days of summer camp during the summer vacations of 2027 and 2028 for youth who otherwise lack the opportunity for a holiday stay.
