Development of outdoor environment
Simon & Andreas Fastigheter AB is developing the outdoor environment around newly built rental apartments in Malmbäck. Through shared meeting places, greenery, and accessible environments, an attractive residence is created for the elderly who want to stay in the area. The project also contributes to increased social community and sustainable development of the locality.
About the project
In Malmbäck, there is a need for more accessible apartments for the elderly who want to sell their villas but continue to live in the area. Simon & Andreas Fastigheter AB is therefore building new rental apartments and simultaneously developing the outdoor environment to create a safe, pleasant, and social residence.
The project includes, among other things, planting of hedges and apple trees, establishment of lawns and walkways, a shared outdoor area, bicycle storage, environmental house, lighting, and paving. The shared outdoor environment is intended to encourage spontaneous meetings between residents and contribute to increased safety and community.
The initiative also has a clear sustainability perspective. The apartments are built from reused modules that were previously used as school facilities, which extends the lifespan of the materials and reduces resource consumption. The project also plans for greenery and tree planting as well as the use of local contractors to reduce climate impact.
By creating attractive housing for the elderly, villas are also freed up for families with children, which contributes to a vibrant countryside and strengthens both services, community life, and local development in Malmbäck.
