How prepared are you and your family to cope with a prolonged power outage, lack of water, food,
Cyber attacks or closed payment solutions?
Have you ensured access to heat, water, food, communication, and sanitation or do you hope that someone
else will do it for you in the event of a crisis? With a changed global situation, it is high time to think long-term
and review your own ability to function in an unstable world even if necessary transports are delayed, the power
goes out, or food runs out?
The lecture aims to inspire participants to grow more edibles and pick plants, berries and nuts in
the forest and then refine the harvest into tasty energy. Growing your own food is not about becoming
self-sufficient all year round but rather about adding fresh vegetables, especially in season, and refining
the harvest of the forest and garden into storable emergency food that lasts all winter. And
of course eat well and locally grown in season. With the right conditions, it is not impossible to be able to harvest
your own food nearly twelve months a year. At least in the southern parts of the country.
Facing a crisis in everyday life does not have to mean war or conflict, but could just as easily (more likely)
be about power outages, weather, water disruptions or digital influence operations aimed at
disrupt the functioning of society. The lecture focuses on building a basic preparedness culture
and attract interest in growing plants regardless of whether you live in an apartment, a house or on a farm. By discussing
area, seed, fertilizer, soil improvement and crop rotation are given the opportunity to develop good conditions for
to increase the harvest and at the same time ensure everyday life when society does not function as usual.
Niklas Kämpargård is a lecturer and trainer in crisis preparedness, cultivation and self-sufficiency.
A nurse by training with a long history in ambulance care and international operations.
Currently an author and lecturer with the aim of strengthening Sweden's preparedness. Conducts workshops,
training and practice days and secure future operations.
