Bråbo Café has been operating for nearly ten years and has over the years become an established meeting place for both residents of the area and visitors from outside. Now the company wants to take the next step and develop the business with a new food and visitor concept – Bråbo Waffle Shop.

Through the project, a new preparation kitchen will be built and equipped. The kitchen creates the opportunity to develop a waffle shop with both savory and sweet waffles, where local and seasonal ingredients play an important role. The idea is to combine the familiar waffle concept with flavors and ingredients from the local area, thereby creating a new culinary experience with a clear local touch.

The initiative will also contribute to more collaborations with local farmers and food producers. Already during the planning, the company has had dialogue with actors in the local area about the possibility of using local and seasonal ingredients in the waffle shop's offerings. The ambition is to create shorter supply chains while strengthening local food production.

When the project is completed, the preparation kitchen should be finished and the waffle shop ready to open as a new business branch. The project is expected to create 400 new hours of employment per year and around 500 new visitors annually. In the long term, the goal is for the waffle shop to become a permanent and economically sustainable part of the business and contribute to more reasons to visit Bråbygden.

The project's total budget is 505,642 kronor, of which 300,000 kronor is project support through Leader Astrid Lindgren's Hembygd and the remaining part is privately financed by the company.
